Garden fencing is essential for defining boundaries, providing privacy, and adding security to your property.
Good fencing provides immediate privacy, keeping your garden activities away from neighbours' and passers-by's views.
It enhances security by creating a physical barrier, clearly defines property boundaries to avoid disputes, and adds structure to your garden design.
Quality installation matters significantly – we use concrete posts (lasting 50+ years vs 15-20 for timber), install posts at proper depths for wind resistance, and include gravel boards at ground level to prevent panel rot.
These details determine whether your fence lasts 8 years or 25+ years.

We visit your property anywhere in Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, or across Kent to assess your fencing requirements.
We'll measure the boundary length, discuss fence types and heights, check for any boundary ownership markers (T-marks on deeds), and explain regulations.
We'll advise whether concrete or timber posts suit your situation (we strongly recommend concrete for longevity), discuss gravel boards to prevent rot, and design fencing that suits your property. Within 2-3 days, you'll receive a comprehensive quote with all work clearly itemised.

Once you're happy with the quote and a start date is booked, we begin by carefully removing your old fencing, extracting old posts (including concrete if necessary), and removing all waste from site.
We protect your property throughout.
We then mark post positions precisely and dig holes to proper depths – 600mm minimum, 750mm for taller fences or exposed positions.
Concrete posts are set in heavy-duty post mix, ensuring they're perfectly vertical and aligned. This foundation determines your fence's longevity and wind resistance.
Once posts are set, we fit gravel boards between posts at ground level (these take ground moisture, protecting panels from rot).
We then install fence panels, securing them properly to posts with appropriate fixings. William works on-site with the team, ensuring panels are level, gaps are consistent, and everything is secure.
We finish by fitting post caps to all posts (prevents water entering the post tops) and conducting thorough quality checks. Any disturbed ground is levelled and tidied.

We conduct a thorough walkthrough, explain any maintenance requirements (annual treatment for timber fencing recommended), answer all questions, and ensure you're completely satisfied.
You receive your 6-year guarantee documentation and can immediately enjoy your private, secure garden.

Generally no – fences under 2m high don't require planning permission. Near highways (roads, footpaths), the limit is 1m. Fences over 2m may need permission. Listed buildings and conservation areas have additional restrictions. We'll advise based on your specific situation.
We strongly recommend concrete. Concrete posts last 50+ years vs 15-20 for timber, they're unaffected by rot or insects, and provide superior stability in wind. While initially more expensive, they're better value over the fence's lifetime and eliminate future post replacement costs.
Gravel boards fit horizontally between posts at ground level. They take ground moisture, protecting fence panels from rot at the base. Without gravel boards, panel bottoms rot within 5-8 years. With them, panels can last 15+ years. We include gravel boards as standard – they're essential for longevity.
Check your property deeds for T-marks on the boundary plan. The boundary with the T-mark is your responsibility. If no T-marks exist, ownership can be ambiguous. Traditionally, the "good side" faces outward, but this isn't legally definitive. We recommend discussing with neighbours before replacement.
Most residential fence installations take 1-3 days depending on length and ground conditions. A standard 30m boundary typically takes 2 days. We'll provide a timeline in your quote.
With proper installation, yes. We dig post holes to 600-750mm depth (deeper for exposed positions), use heavy-duty concrete post mix, and ensure posts are perfectly vertical. This provides the foundation for wind resistance. Close board fencing offers best wind performance due to vertical board overlap.
Annual treatment with quality wood preservative or stain extends lifespan significantly. This prevents moisture penetration, UV damage, and rot. Composite fencing requires no treatment – just occasional cleaning. We provide full maintenance guidance at handover.
Yes – we can match lap panel styles, close board designs, or other fence types to maintain consistency with existing sections. We'll discuss this during your site survey.
We are generally booked out for around 4-6 weeks. But for smaller fence installations we may be able to squeeze you in sooner
